Money Exchange Markets See Light At End Of Tunnel
About two months after the decision to open the Kuwait International Airport in line with the gradual return to normal life, the Kuwaiti exchange market witnessed a great recovery, when decisions were issued to allow vaccinated citizens to travel abroad.
The daily added, the exchange market witnessed an increased activity during after year of stagnation when buying and selling almost came to a standstill following the closure of the airport for long periods.
During a tour of the money exchange shops by Al-Anba to get acquainted with the extent of activity in this area, the most currency traders said in light of the approaching travel season the business is picking up pace.
The commercial activity at Kuwait international Airport — the buying and selling of currencies have jumped by 80% since last July.
They added there is a high demand for some currencies, especially the Turkish lira, the US dollar, the Euro, the Saudi riyal, the Iranian toman and the Egyptian pound, stressing that the market will witness a great recovery in the event of an increase in the operating capacity of arrivals at the Kuwait International Airport.
They stressed that the recent decisions of the Council of Ministers to open the airport and increase the operational capacity need continuity to return the exchange market to its normal position again, especially as it has incurred huge losses during the past periods due to the closure of the airport for long periods.
