Moi Steps Up Security In Kd 10 Million Spend
The government is taking concrete steps to strengthen the preventive security system in light of the regional developments, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reliable Ministry of Interior (MoI) sources, the ministry has put in place a project costing KD 10 million to deter the use of unmanned aircraft or drones.
The same sources revealed “the Ministry of Interior project comprises of devices which have the ability to deter and disrupt unmanned aircraft because it falls within the integral part of preventive security given the regional developments and keeping in mind the protection of vital installations, such as oil, protecting the palaces of HH the Amir and prevent drug smuggling inside correctional institutions and the Kuwait International Airport.

erior has conducted a thorough study of the available deterrence devices, and looked at multiple offers to choose the best that suits the security needs of the country.
The sources added, “The Ministry of Interior has contacted the Ministry of Finance to begin the contract procedures, and said KD 7 million will cover the entire Kuwait International Airport and KD 3 million the Amiri palaces and correctional institutions and other vital installations.” It is noteworthy to mention here that the issue of drone has taken a center stage amid a growing concern for the security services in various countries after their increasing use in carrying out offensive or espionage operations, the most recent of which was the attack on Saudi Arabia, which according to Western intelligence reports the aircraft flew over Kuwait airspace before reaching their targets in the Kingdom.
