Moe Has Affirmed That There Will Be No Exception For Fingerprint Attendance

11 August 2017 Kuwait

Ministry of Education has affirmed that there will be no exception to the fingerprint attendance process for any category other than those with special needs, reports Al-Rai daily. Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Haitham Al-Atari announced the replacement of Article 10 of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) decision No. 41/2006 regarding the rules, provisions and regulations of official working hours by stating that employees must adhere to the attendance rules and leave at the specified times, which will be tracked by the fingerprint attendance system.

The decision exempts employees with special needs, provided they submit to their employers a letter from the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs to state that their disability does not enable them to register the fingerprint for proving their attendance and departure. Dr Al-Atari issued a circular to all sectors of the ministry, basing it on CSC decision No 8/2017, which stipulates that no government body is exempted from the fingerprint attendance process, irrespective of their level of superiority or classified functions or duration of their service. He affirmed the decision will come into effect from Oct 1.
