Moderna Vaccine Is Highly Effective In Teens

The US Moderna firm announced on Tuesday the success of its COVID-19 vaccine trials on adolescents. The trials were conducted on more than 3,600 children aged 12 to 17, and it showed positive responses against the virus.

“We will submit these results to the U.S. FDA and regulators globally in early June and request authorization. We remain committed to doing our part to help end the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the firm in a statement.

If authorized, the vaccine would become the second available for adolescents as young as 12. Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine was authorized for that age group earlier this month.
