Moci To Restart The Appointment Reservation System

08 March 2021 Lockdown

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) was instructed to restart the appointment reservation system for members of the public to enter Co-ops and supermarkets, during the partial curfew period, from 5 pm until 10 pm, Al Qabas reported.

The Council of Ministers had announced earlier that Co-ops will open delivery applications to citizens and expats during the hours of the curfew.

However, the daily reported that Co-ops and supermarkets are not ready to take delivery orders during the curfew, because they do not have the facilities to meet the demand. This is especially concerning during the curfew as consumption increases, especially among young people, and can pose a problem as supermarkets and Co-ops do not have the sufficient number of delivery manpower to handle large requests at a time as well as do not have the right number of cars and motorcycles for making deliveries, or managing a payment mechanism suitable for everyone.
