Misdemeanor Court Fined A Citizen Kd500 For Insulting A Public Employee

13 February 2017 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Section in the Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of the Court of First Instance which fined a citizen KD500 for insulting a public employee. This led to the acquittal of the citizen. According to the case file, the citizen engaged the employee in a serious altercation, prompting the latter to lodge a complaint against him. However, the defendant’s lawyer, Attorney Bushra Al-Hindal, appealed against the lower court’s ruling. He explained to the court that both parties had a misunderstanding prior to the altercation because the plaintiff provoked his client. He stressed there was no concrete evidence against his client, except some statements.
