Ministry Withdraws The Tablets From Secondary Level Students
The administrations of secondary schools have recalled the tablets that were distributed to the students’ tablets in order to return them to the concerned company, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that the administrations have appealed to students who failed to handover the tablets to do so as soon as possible. In case of failure to return the tablets after the appeal, the students will bear the costs for the missing and damaged equipment.
The sources revealed that the “Tablet” contract that was signed between Ministry of Education and the concerned company ends on Sept 21, due to which the tablets will be withdrawn from all students and delivered to the company, adding that this move was made immediately after the ministry decided to cancel the project.
They said the ministry is required to return 80,000 tablets after the end of the contract, which cost about KD28 million.
Meanwhile, educational zones continued to work during the weekend on school maintenance works which included replacement and repair of a number of air-conditioning units. The ministry is racing against time to ensure things are back to normalcy in schools and appropriate atmosphere are provided for the students.
Ministry of Finance sent an internal circular concerning an e-mail with the subject “Your account has been hacked” that was sent to all employees of the ministry, warning them against opening that email, reports Al-Rai daily., The circular stated that, if anyone opened the email or link by mistake, they need to coordinate with the concerned authorities in the ministry. Head of Kuwait Journalist Association (KJA) Fatima Hussain said the keenness of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak for ensuring the success of the forum on education and its ability to meet the demands of the labor market, which is expected to be held in the beginning of 2019, reflects his conviction about the importance of the role of civil society organizations in the execution of the integrated developmental plan.
In a press release issued by KJA, Hussain highlighted the significance of the cooperation of civil society organizations with different government bodies in terms of providing initiatives for determining the labor market’s demands and matching the educational outcomes with them. She said His Highness the Prime Minister believes in the important role of the Kuwaiti youth through their participation in the strategy of NewKuwait 2035 vision for which skilled and well trained workers are necessary.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Dr Khalid Mahdi affirmed that the forum aims to enhance the role of the youth in achieving the advancement of Kuwait and implementing the developmental plan of Kuwait.
