Meat And Fish Factory Shut Down By Commerce Ministry

Al-Rai daily reports that the Commercial Control Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry closed a meat factory due to commercial fraud.

As a result of the investigation, the factory has been referred to the Commercial Prosecution for further investigation.

While on an inspection tour, the Ministry of Commerce team observed factory workers thawing frozen meat, chicken, fish, and shrimp and repackaging them with fresh factory labels.

According to the ministry, the factory deliberately misrepresented the real nature of the products by thawing frozen items and selling them as fresh.

In turn, these products were sold to a wide segment of customers, including restaurants and consumers.
