Maritime Navigation Temporarily Suspended Due To Fluctuations In Weather Conditions
The Ports Corporation announced today, Sunday, the temporary suspension of maritime traffic in the ports of Shuwaikh, Shuaiba, and Doha due to fluctuations in weather conditions, Al Qabas daily reported.
The corporation said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the entry and exit operations of ships in the three ports stopped today at eight in the morning.
The corporation attributed the suspension of maritime traffic to an increase in wind speed to 30 knots (about 55 kilometers) per hour, and high waves.
The Kuwaiti Meteorological Department had announced that the country would continue to be affected by the hot, active northwest winds, with speeds exceeding 70 kilometers per hour, accompanied by strong and rapid dust-inducing flashes, especially during the day, the waves are more than 7 feet high.
