Manpower Authority Discusses Kuwaitization Of Private Companies With Govt Contracts

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) held a meeting with 30 government agencies to explain the mechanism for Kuwaitization of government contracts. The new regulations issued in a Cabinet decision on October 30, 2023, will come into force in May 2024.

The new regulation, with the purpose of encouraging Kuwaiti youth to work in private companies, will increase the percentage of national cadres employed by these contracts.

“The new regulations are considered one of the mechanisms by which the government plans to increase the percentage of national labor in the private sector as outlined in the government’s work program,” PAM Acting Deputy Director General for National Manpower Affairs, Najat Al-Yousef said.

The session explained the mechanism of implementing increasing the percentage of national labor in the private sector companies with government contracts.
