Kuwait’s Cultural Attaches Join Anti-fake Degrees War
The cultural attachés of Kuwait in various countries launched a number of procedures with the aim of confronting the phenomenon of fake certificates and preserving public funds with the cooperation of Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Ministry of Higher Education, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to sources, these cultural attaches asked for information about the Kuwaiti employees of the public and private sectors who studied abroad without obtaining permissions issued by Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) and CSC.
Secretary General for MGRP Fawzi Al-Majdali said MGRP requested for a meeting with the concerned leader of Ministry of Higher Education to coordinate on the issues related to the applications of the private sector employees who are interested in study overseas, indicating that he is expecting such a meeting to be held next week. He explained that these actions are aimed at avoiding further fake certificates.
There are suggestions that the employees should obtain clearance before seeking permission to study overseas. This step was based on the fact that 6,250 employees received national labor subsidy while they were studying, which is illegal because this subsidy must not be provided to citizens who are studying or are registered in any of the educational levels or are enrolled in training courses organized by Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) as per the Cabinet’s decision.
