Saudi Freyssinet Middle East Company is working on eight bridges on the road linking Kuwait and Saudi Arabia by June 2023, reports The Construction Week. Construction work on the project began in January 2020, reports Al-Anba daily. The report explained that the company, which specializes in engineering and civil construction, is making progress on one of the major infrastructure packages for the Nuwaiseeb Road in Kuwait.

Eight bridges that are part of the road network have been constructed with a total length of 1,736 meters, divided into 302 sectors by the company. The maximum length of the intersection is 110 meters. The Nuwaiseeb Road is one of the main roads in the country from Kuwait City to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, making it one of the most important construction projects currently.

On the upper bridge, the company used balanced cantilever technology, which doesn't require scaffolding under the bridge. Using special lifting equipment, it connects the parts sequentially to make an extension by post-tensioning and balancing them left and right from each pier. Parts are slowly cast into place and finally positioned within the basic structure. This is the first time the company has used this advanced technology for a project of this size
