Kuwait's Schools And Medical Sector Stand In Solidarity With Palestine
After the brutal Zionist attack on Gaza's health facilities and the bombings of the National Baptist Hospital, the European Hospital, and other hospitals, which were crowded with martyrs and wounded, including thousands of children, women, the elderly, and defenseless civilians, the Ministry of Health organized a solidarity stand in support of the Palestinian people.
The solidarity stance comes as an affirmation of Kuwait’s position of support and assistance to the Palestinian people who are being subjected to the Zionist aggression in the Gaza Strip, and a victory for the doctors, all the medical staff working in the hospital, as well as patients and martyrs. Yesterday, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, ordered all health facilities and sectors to organize solidarity stands, including general hospitals, specialized centers, primary health care centers, and medical emergencies. In response to the brutal bombing by the Zionist aggression on the Baptist Hospital, hundreds of martyrs and wounded were killed, including patients and displaced. The protest involved hundreds of doctors, nurses, administrators, and officials from all sectors of the Ministry of Health. According to Minister Al-Awadhi's instructions, the protest lasted for 15 minutes in a way that did not interfere with patient care.
A number of doctors and officials condemned and rejected the brutal and deliberate bombings of health facilities by the Zionist entity, which are clearly in violation of international law and war and human rights conventions. As the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al- Sanad stated, targeting civilians and health personnel violates all agreements, regulations and laws governing armed conflicts. "What it took the United Nations about 50 years to enact these laws was undermined by the occupation in one week, and is being undermined daily," he said. Today we in the Ministry of Health, through this stand, express our support for the Palestinian people in the clear violations they face. What hurts them hurts us and what they suffer from affects us too. As a result, these crowds of health teams came to support the health teams and civilians who were targeted in the Gaza Strip, as well as to support the martyrs and the vulnerable and defenseless people around the world who suffer due to wars and a military machine that does not distinguish between civilians and warriors.”
During his remarks, Dr. Al-Sanad expressed appreciation for the official position of the State of Kuwait, as well as the diplomatic role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various international forums to represent the people, humanity and justice around the world. Dr. Muhammad Al-Rashidi, Director of the Farwaniya Health Zone, presented the Kuwaiti government's and people's support for the Palestinian cause and people of Palestine against the Zionist entity.
