11 July 2022 Kuwait

A senior UN official will visit Kuwait next month to talk with Kuwaiti authorities about removing Kuwaiti nationals' names on the UNSC terror list if they successfully complete a rehabilitation programme that has been approved by the foreign ministry.

Richard Malanjum, the UN Ombudsperson, would travel to Kuwait in the third week of August at the Foreign Ministry's invitation to meet with Hamad Al-Mashaan, the chairman of Kuwait's committee for the implementation of the UNSC resolutions, which were adopted in accordance with the seventh chapter of the UN charter. The meeting would be focused on fulfilling the prerequisites for removing Kuwaiti residents' names from the UNSC terror list after they successfully completed the rehabilitation programme administered by the foreign ministry.
