Kuwait Teachers Object To Biometrics

The Kuwait Teachers Association (KTA) has urged Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, to comprehend the reasons behind its objection to the implementation of fingerprinting in educational institutions, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The association contends that this measure conflicts with professional privacy and the duties of educational bodies, emphasizing that its enforcement could adversely impact teacher performance, implementation of plans, and job responsibilities, saying these objections are based on logical and objective justifications that were agreed upon by former ministers, urging the need to address any gaps and concerns before implementation.

In a recent statement, Hamad Al-Houli, KTA Chairman of the Board of Directors, reiterated the association’s call for the swift disbursement of overdue financial dues to members of the educational institutions that have been approved by the ministry or included in integrated systems. The association emphasizes its consistent plea for the resolution of this matter to ensure beneficiaries receive their full legal financial rights. The Board of Directors expressed its commitment to intensify efforts to address outstanding issues and challenges in the new phase of the Ministry under Dr. Al-Adwani’s leadership while at the same time commending his determination to implement a roadmap for educational development, enhance its quality, and improve educational indicators in the country. The association supports its efforts to translate the directives of the political leadership, prepare competent national human resources, overcome obstacles, and improve educational outcomes. The association also appreciates the Minister’s call for the Ministry to provide three strategies and plans that can be implemented in three stages, free from complexities and regulatory requirements.
