Kuwait Red Crescent Society Leads Historic Medical Mission To Gaza
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has announced a significant milestone with the entry of a Kuwaiti medical delegation into the Gaza Strip. This marks the first such mission since the onset of the Israeli aggression last October.
Dr. Musaed Al-Enezi, head of operations at KRCS and leader of the medical team, conveyed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the team, consisting of Kuwaiti consultants and surgeons, entered Gaza via the Rafah land crossing. Their primary objective is to offer crucial medical assistance to the Palestinian people and provide support to local medical teams.
Dr. Al-Enezi emphasized that the deployment of the Kuwaiti medical team was initiated under the directives of Kuwait’s political leadership and with the unwavering support of the Kuwaiti people for their Palestinian brethren. This humanitarian effort holds significant importance, as it marks the first time Kuwaiti doctors have entered Gaza since the recent Israeli aggression began.
The entry process was facilitated through coordination with Egyptian authorities and in collaboration with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Rahma Society. The team's main focus is to aid local medical personnel and perform critical surgical operations for the most severely ill and injured patients.
In addition to the medical personnel, the team brought along essential medical supplies and equipment to alleviate the strain on Gaza’s healthcare system, which has been severely impacted by the Israeli blockade. Dr. Al-Enezi assured that Kuwait’s support and aid to Gaza will continue without interruption.
Plans are also underway to establish a field hospital in Gaza, in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, Palestinian Red Crescent, and local organizations. This hospital will be equipped with multiple operating rooms and specialized medical equipment to address the healthcare needs of Palestinians in Gaza.
Dr. Al-Enezi expressed gratitude to all parties involved in facilitating the Kuwaiti team’s mission and extended appreciation to medical teams worldwide for their solidarity in supporting the Palestinian people, particularly during crises.
The medical team, led by Dr. Musaed Al-Enezi, consists of four specialist doctors and an administrative coordinator. Their arrival in Al-Arish, northern Sinai, yesterday via a Kuwaiti Air Force transport plane marks the commencement of urgent medical relief efforts provided by Kuwait to the region.
