Kuwait Determined To Back Un S Global Peace Efforts
Representative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Saturday Kuwait was determined to back UN for achieving global peace and security.
His Highness the Prime Minister, in New York to represent His Highness the Amir for the UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) 72nd Session as his country would start non-permanent UN Security Council membership next January, called on countries of the world to support the UN programs.
;His Highness the Prime Minister, who thanked all countries that supported Kuwait to win its 2018-19 UNSC membership, noted that UN programs aimed at achieving peace and security, countering terrorism, promoting co-existence and push forward for progress and prosperity. His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak who arrived here earlier today reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm support to UN’s development and humanitarian programs. He said Kuwait contributed positively to addressing many disasters and crises in many countries around the world, leading to the UN honoring His Highness the Amir as “Humanitarian Leader,” and Kuwait as Humanitarian Center.
The Kuwaiti Prime Minister said he was honored to represent His Highness the Amir to the UNGA meetings, which would be held amidst regional and international developments that required an international cooperation to address them. His Highness the Prime Minister was received at John F. Kennedy Airport by Advisor at His Highness the Prime Minister’s Diwan Sheikha Dr Rasha Al-Sabah, Director of His Highness the Amir office Ahmad Al-Fahad, Amiri Diwan Advisor Mohammad Abulhassan, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah and Kuwait’s permanent representative to the UN Mansour Al-Otaibi. His Highness the Prime Minister is accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and senior officials.
