Kuwait Assembly Agrees To Amend Juvenile Law

The National Assembly has unanimously agreed to reform the country's juvenile justice system, as 53 out of 54 MPs voted in favor of the gesture on Wednesday. As per the new changes, clause number 15 of the law states that "no minors, under any circumstances, should ever face the death penalty or life imprisonment." Moreover, the clause also clarifies that "all convicts below 18 years of age face a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison, even if the crime carries a punishment of life imprisonment or the death sentence."
