Kd12m Is Given To Moh To Buy Heart And Cancer Medicines
According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), the supply of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment continues to provide quality healthcare for all patients and visitors, as well as to ensure that patients with chronic diseases are not affected by treatment protocols prescribed by doctors in government clinics and hospitals. The sources added that the ministry, within the framework of its role entrusted to it in providing medicines and medical supplies, has finally obtained the approvals from the regulatory authorities regarding the supply of separate medicines for the treatment of cancer and heart diseases, believed to be worth 12 million dinars.
As reported in the daily, the Ministry of Health has approved the import of more than one cancer-fighting drug at different prices, citing the Ministry's concern for the safety of patients and the continuation of their treatment at all hospitals without any significant obstacles. The ministry added that the recent approvals included the supply of medicines for diabetics in centers and hospitals at a cost of 3.8 million dinars, in addition to other medicines for the treatment of respiratory diseases at 3.6 million dinars, and treatments for heart and high blood pressure patients at 5.2 million dinars, and medicines for the treatment of rheumatoid patients at 2 million dinars, pointing to the imminent supply of other medicines for the treatment of patients with anemia worth 2.2 million dinars.
The sources pointed out that officials in public health centers and hospitals are instructed to monitor the medicines and medical supplies disbursed through the pharmacies to prevent misuse or waste and to preserve public money. According to sources, the ministry closely monitors any observations related to the shortage or weakness of pharmaceutical items in all its facilities.
