Kd 577mn Increase In Kuwait's Foreign Reserves Was Recorded In November
A monthly increase of 4.73% resulted in Kuwait's cash reserves increasing to 12.75 billion dinars at the end of November, an increase of 577 million dinars, compared with 12.18 billion dinars at the end of October. Kuwait's foreign exchange reserves consist of cash balances, accounts, bonds, certificates of deposit, Treasury bills, and foreign currency deposits.
Kuwait's Central Bank reported that its total assets were 13.05 billion dinars, divided among liquid foreign reserves, which comprised 12.75 billion dinars of the total assets, along with 31.74 million dinars of gold reserves and 262.14 million dinars of other reserves. Last November, the total value of securities and coins in Kuwait was about 1.97 billion dinars, a decline of 22 million dinars or 1.1% from last October, when the total value of securities and coins was 1.94 billion dinars, the total value of securities, which accounted for the majority, whereas the total value of coins was 31.134 million dinars.
In November, the 20-dinar banknotes reached 1.13 billion dinars, compared to 1.14 billion dinars in October. Additionally, the value of the 10 dinar denomination decreased, reaching 628.34 million dinars at the end of November, compared to 636.86 million dinars in October. The denomination of 5 dinars has also declined, reaching 102.93 million dinars at the end of November, compared to 106.89 million dinars at the end of October.
It is estimated that the one-dinar denomination declined from 50.05 million dinars last October to 48.54 million dinars at the end of last November, while the half-dinar denomination increased from 13.09 million dinars last October to 13.13 million dinars at the end of last November. Kuwaiti dinar quarters increased to 11.07 million dinars at the end of November, up from 11.02 million dinars in October. As for the level of coins, they increased compared to the levels of last October, reaching 31.134 million dinars in November compared to 31.026 million dinars in last October, as the 100 fils denomination rose during November, reaching 14.05 million dinars compared to 13.99 million dinars in October.
