Kd 2.15 Billion Paid In Rent Allowance Over 11 Years

The State Treasury has incurred about KD 2.15 billion as rent allowance for citizens entitled for residential care during the last 11 years.

Data obtained by Al-Anba shows the delay in the implementation of some housing projects contributed to the increase in the rent allowance for citizens during the last fiscal alone to KD 227 million compared to KD 218 million during the previous fiscal year, noting that the implementation of housing projects on time will directly benefit the Treasury.

The data also shows the annual rent allowance began to rise to record levels over the past years. It shot to about KD 155 million in 2010 with successive increase in 2020 to KD 227 million.
