Juvenile Offenders Should Be Provided With All Means Of Social Care
Juvenile offenders should be provided with all means of social care to rehabilitate them and make them competent members of the society, Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh stressed on Monday.
She made this remark at the opening of a GCC seminar on juvenile offenders. The seminar is organized by the Executive Bureau of the GCC Social Affairs and Labor Ministers Council. Juvenile delinquency can be corrected by providing social, religious, moral and psychological guidance, the Minister said at the seminar. "Adolescents should be protected at a young age from any negative and corrupt environment."
She hoped that the two-day seminar would result in applicable recommendations that could correct the behavior of delinquent juveniles.
On his part, Director of the GCC Executive Bureau Dr. Amer Al-Hajri said that the GCC countries spared no effort in dealing with the growing juvenile misconduct by setting up various programs and activities in education, health, art and vocation as well as those programs that focus on the psychological aspects of those young adults.
"Taking those adolescent under our wings is the responsibility of the state, the household, and the civic community," an assisting secretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs Dr. Fatima Al-Mulla pointed out.
