Jazeera Airways Vaccinates Its Pilots … Cabin Crew By April 12
Jazeera Airways announced that its pilots have been vaccinated, while the cabin crew will be fully vaccinated by April 12; affirming its commitment to ensure maximum protection for all those on board its aircraft, reports Al-Jarida daily. In a press statement, the airline pointed out that a fully vaccinated crew, along with pre-flight testing and strict hygienic regulations, give passengers peace of mind when flying with the airline. It added the Ministry of Health conducted vaccinations for the abovementioned staff at Kuwait Vaccination Center. It is also planning to include all employees in the vaccination drive soon.
Chairman of Jazeera Airways Marwan Boodai said: “On behalf of everyone at Jazeera Airways, I thank Health Minister Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah and the frontline workers at the ministry for their efforts in speeding up the vaccination process, specifically amongst service companies where employees are in direct contact with customers. The crew members are our frontline staff; hence, the need to protect from the virus. At Jazeera Airways, we have always been committed to guaranteeing the safety of our passengers. They can rest assured that they are flying in extremely safe environments when flying with Jazeera Airways. Our airline is fully prepared for flights to resume normal operations at Kuwait International Airport in the near future.” Jazeera Airways operates an expanded fleet of new Airbus A320 neo aircraft, all equipped with hospital grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) cabin air filters. It has taken all the necessary safety and precautionary measures at Jazeera Terminal T5 to ensure that passengers fly safely.
The airline has been at the forefront of supporting government efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus since the pandemic started. It placed its fleet at the disposal of the country and participated in the largest air bridge repatriation program ever launched as it operated more than 60 flights for the return of more than 6,800 Kuwaitis from around the world. It converted its Park & Fly facility into the first drivethru Covid-19 center for the use of the ministry and another drive-thru testing facility was set up at Jaber Al-Ahmad National Stadium.
It continued to serve the public without interruption by operating fullcargo flights with a capacity of up to 15 tons per aircraft in order to transport of essential supplies to the country. It operated flights scheduled under the directive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as per the request of local embassies for expatriates to travel out of Kuwait. By the end of June, Jazeera Airways announced offering 50,000 free roundtrip tickets to frontliners in the fight against Covid-19 and the total cost of these tickets is estimated at KD5 million.
