Jail Suspended

The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of First Instance Court that sentenced Sheikh Khalifa Al- Sabah in absentia to one-year imprisonment with hard labor, and instead ordered suspension of the verdict after signing an undertaking to be of good conduct with a fine of KD 5,000. Defense attorney Ali Al-Asfour stated the ruling was based on charges leveled against his client on the accusation of defaming and insulting the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim in a televised program.
