Indian Embassy In Kuwait Issues Advisory For Residence Violators

28 March 2020 Saudi Arabia

Tens of thousands of Indian residency violators intending to take advantage of the amnesty announced by the Kuwait ministry of interior are anxious about their departure under the present conditions. The decree issued by minister of interior Anas Al Saleh exempted residency violators from paying fines, provided they leave the country between April 1 and 30.

While India has closed its airspace for commercial flights until April 14, Kuwait has been encouraging illegal residents to leave to their home country, fast tracking the procedures and trying to reduce the number of expatriates to contain the spread of the Covid19. The Indian embassy has issued an advisory to the community as follows

Advisory on Kuwait Govt Decision about Residency Violations

1. With due respect to the various precautionary and safety measures introduced by local and Indian authorities, Embassy is in consultation with all the concerned regarding the above subject.

2. Embassy will be issuing further notification shortly regarding Travel documents [Emergency Certificates(ECs)] for those not in possession of valid passports.

3. Until such time, it is requested that Corona related local regulations be borne in mind, and visits to the Embassy for ECs may please be AVOIDED.
