Indian Embassy Improves Community Service; Neet Exam Centre In Kuwait A Big Achievement

26 July 2021 India

Getting a NEET Exam centre for the benefit of Indians students in Kuwait for the first time in history is a big achievement, said Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Shri Sibi George. Tuesday, 27th, we will celebrate NEET Day in Kuwait, dedicated to service of the Indian Community, and I invite all Indian nationals to join us virtually, Ambassador said. He was briefing the media at the Indian Embassy.

It was a long pending demand from the Indian community about the NEET exam centre in Kuwait. Getting this exam centre here, especially during this pandemic year, benefits a large number of parents as their travel plans are disrupted during this period. Kuwait is the first centre outside India announced by the government of India. It was possible with the continuous follow-up of Ambassador Shri Sibi George. Earlier this year, Kuwait also hosted JEE and NATA examination for the first time in the history of Kuwait.

Indian embassy is planning a series of events in the coming days to interact with the community. August 20th Embassy will be celebrating ICWF day. Embassy also planning to organise an event to express our solidarity in the fight against Covid, Ambassador said. The embassy had launched various networks such as Indian Business Network, Indian Professional network, Indian Sports network, Cultural network, women network, readers network, etc and doing various activities within the limitation of Covid protocol.

On Wednesday, 28th Ambassador will address the Indian community in an Open House, which is specially dedicated to addressing the issues of return of stranded Indians, Vaccination Certificate and ICWF.

"This year also, we are not sure whether we can host the large Indian community here for celebrating our Independence Day next month," Ambassador said. Depending on the situation, we will plan the events to celebrate our 75th Independence day next month, he added.

The embassy is actively addressing the issues of the community.  "With a great effort, we were able to get one ATM nearby the Embassy for the benefits of all who are coming to this area," Ambassador said. Furthermore, to increase the spacing, especially during this hard time, the embassy has set up a temporary air-conditioned area outside the building as a support helpdesk for those who visit the embassy for various services.  Various initiatives such as air-conditioned shuttle bus for the people from the nearby bus stop to the Embassy, Chilled juice as a welcome drink to all visitors, lunch packets for needy members of the community whoever visiting the embassy during lunchtime are a few initiatives Sibi George implemented after he took charge as the Ambassador last year.
