When a meteor was spotted in the Saudi sky from Hail and Al-Qassim, where it lit up the sky with a green light and left a trail of smoke in its wake, it sparked debate both inside and outside the Kingdom. This event is known as a "fireball."

Malham Hindi, an astronomer at King Abdulaziz University, reportedly claimed that it was a medium-sized meteorite that burned in the atmosphere after examining the photos and videos. According to Hindi, the meteor entered the atmosphere between Hail, Medina, and Qassim at an altitude of 80 to 120 kilometres. If any of it survived, it may have made it to the land between Taif and Riyadh, according to a huge number of testimonies from different towns.

The term "fireball" refers to these phenomena, which is roughly the size of a soccer ball and enters the environment at high speeds before combusting as a result of friction with the air. The meteorite's green colour results from the intense heat that causes the meteorite's component minerals, including magnesium, aluminium, and iron, to burn.
