In 2022, 322 People Died In Traffic Accidents

Major General Youssef Al-Khadda, Director General of the General Traffic Department, reported that 322 people were killed in traffic accidents across the country in 2022. In the year 2021, the total number of death due to traffic accident was 323.

The number of direct violations in the year 2022 amounted to 1,384,842 and indirect violations amounted to 2,852,612, where as the number of speeding violations amounted to 2,653,005, and the number of traffic violations was 236,294.

Statistics also showed that a total of 5,076 cars and 798 motorcycles were impounded during the year.

Statistics showed a decrease in the rate of traffic accidents for the year 2022, as the number reached 68,770.
