Housing Welfare Corporation Progresses On Six Key Infrastructure Projects In Southern Regions

The Public Corporation for Housing Welfare has announced substantial progress on the remaining six infrastructure and major service projects in the southern regions of the country.

The projects, which include the Wafra expansion areas, Sabah Al-Ahmad City, and South Sabah Al-Ahmad, have shown significant advancements up until the end of last April.

The corporation reported an 84.64 percent completion rate for the supply, installation, and implementation of a main 132/11 kV station in the industrial suburb of the Sabah Al-Ahmad City project, with expectations for completion by the end of September.

In addition, the project to supply, extend, and maintain 132 kV underground cables to several main transformer stations in the industrial suburb of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City project has reached 84.08 percent completion.

The corporation also highlighted that the completion and construction of road and infrastructure development, irrigation tank works, and electricity substations for the service axis of the Sabah Al-Ahmad City project stood at 6.51 percent by the end of April, with an anticipated completion date of October 2025.

Wafra Expansion Project: The corporation is executing several contracts within the Wafra expansion project. The completion and construction of the asphalt layer and related items for plots 2, 3, and 4 reached 4.35 percent by the end of last month.

Furthermore, the completion rate for the construction and completion of public buildings, roads, and infrastructure networks in Wafra has reached 72.06 percent, with efforts being made to accelerate the pace of work for timely completion according to the schedule.

South Sabah Al-Ahmad City Project: The corporation announced progress in the construction and completion of main road works, major infrastructure services networks, and rainwater tanks in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad City project. The completion rate reached 12.56 percent by the end of last month, an advancement of 7.16 percent over the schedule.

Additionally, the completion rate of the rainwater collection tanks in this project has reached 58.9 percent. Work has also commenced on digging and filling roads, scraping them, treating the soil, and extending pipes, rainwater sewers, and sewage manholes.
