German Embassy In Kuwait Marisa Knollenberg Declared Amount To Customs
Consul General of the German Embassy in Kuwait Marisa Knollenberg has advised those who intend to travel to Germany from any country outside the European Union to abide by regulations on movement of funds by declaring to customs whenever they carry cash amounting to 10,000 Euros or more per person without waiting for instructions to do so.
Knollenberg explained that declaring the amount to customs is mandatory to prevent entry of illegitimate money into European nations, money laundering, and funding of terrorist groups and criminal activities.
She denied the allegation that the action is a way of curtailing movement of funds. She said the concerned individuals can obtain customs declaration form online by logging on to http://www.zoll.de before their trip and the form should be submitted to German customs officers to ease the entry process.
She went on to explain the daily exchange rate determines the cost of obtaining visa; indicating the visa, regardless of validity period, costs KD 20 for adults while children between ages 6-12 pay KD 12 and children from six years old and below are free of charge. She said Al-Qabas Visa Office adds KD 10 service charge to the visa fees.
