Fund For Cancer Patients Helps The Needy

05 April 2022 Kuwait

Jamal Al-Saleh, a director of the Kuwait Cancer Society's Cancer Patients Fund, revealed the fund provides annual assistance to 500 cancer patients in Kuwait, stating that the fund has continued to assist people with cancer since it was established nearly 15 years ago, especially those who had been fired from their jobs because of their illness.

Al-Saleh emphasized that Kuwaiti patients in need of financial assistance, or their companions during the treatment period, as well as residents incapable of paying for medical tests can get assistance through the 'patients' aid' program.

In his presentation, he stated that the fund had provided assistance to more than 5,000 sick Kuwaitis who wanted to go back to their respective countries, whose treatments had not proved successful. This indicates that Kuwait has more than 2,200 cancer patients annually, and many of these patients' livelihoods are affected by illness.
