The consultant of internal diseases, digestive system, liver, and endoscopy at Al Salam International Hospital, Dr. Wadhah Al-Jasser, confirmed that “there are no studies so far indicating the effect of fasting positively or negatively on people with the emerging virus (Covid-19), but there are scientific studies confirming that fasting for 16 hours cleanses The body of toxins, and strengthens the immune system, and reduces the complications of some diseases, and chronic infections .
he  stated that fasting has many benefits, but the Islamic religion permits breaking the fast for some patients who suffer from chronic diseases such as diseases of the heart, arteries, kidneys and diabetes, especially those who take medicines that may affect blood sugar levels, stressing that if a treatment plan is necessary, it is preferable to avoid The fasting patient in order to ensure that the therapeutic process is carried out correctly.
And she confirmed that the latest studies proved that patients with heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory diseases are more susceptible to infection with the emerging (Covid-19) virus, and that any patient has the license to refrain from fasting, especially patients (Covid-19), as fasting may affect their treatment plan .
For his part, Dr. Adel Reda, a specialist in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetes at Al-Sabah Hospital, confirmed that there is a correlation with increasing the risk of coronavirus infection with diabetics, increasing the severity and strength of the infection, stressing the importance of regulating the state of diabetes in patients with the emerging coronavirus, and adjusting organized drugs For diabetes, especially as they are at increased risk of sugar levels and more infections.

He said, “Speaking of continuing or stopping fasting, this is a medical-religious issue, and there is a medical-religious consensus that links the continuity of fasting with being in sync with the rate of occurrence of danger to human life. Therefore, the religious fatwa came to state that the continuation of fasting is related to the rate of risk to human life.”
He added that there are no specific protocols in the case of fasting people with diabetes, because they differ from one person to another, but there are general rules and advice, and what suits a patient may not be suitable for another, and the levels of severity are divided into high, medium and few, and according to the level of risk is allowed to fast, or refrain from it .
In turn, the consultant of internal medicine and rheumatism in Al-Amiri Hospital, Dr. Eman Hassan, warned against exposure to the sun directly and for long hours during fasting, which may expose him to dehydration, feeling tired and very thirsty, pointing out that fasting may affect the Corona patient and his treatment plan.
She considered that sport is very necessary to raise and strengthen immunity, and that exercising only an hour before breakfast is the most appropriate time for those who wish to lose weight, and for those who wish to build muscle, she advised to perform strength exercises after breakfast, and eat, because it requires a great effort and multiplier .
She pointed to the need to drink a lot of water and eat vegetables and fruits rich in water after breakfast, and warned against drinking water in large quantities at the same time, which causes pressure on the urinary bladder.
She advised not to eat immediately after breakfast, saying, “It is very useful to break breakfast on a date, and drink water after it, then go to prayer, and after 10 minutes, we can have a full meal.
