Farwaniya Residents Return To Work As Lockdown Ends

After a total lockdown for nearly two and a half months, residents of Al-Farwaniya breathed a sigh of relief today, as they experienced a return to normal life, reports Al Rai. Many residents left for their jobs after a long break due to the lockdown and being restricted to the area.

The restrictions from removed from the area started at dawn, and people returned to their daily routine during the period before the lockdown, which included visits to their friends and family after an interruption that lasted for more than 80 days.

A number of the residents of Al-Farwaniya have expressed their happiness for the lifting of the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, said the daily. During the lockdown period, all food and healthcare supplies were made available in the area, and that charitable societies and committees contributed to alleviating the suffering of those affected.

The lockdown was ended after coronavirus infections recorded in Farwaniya governorate dropped in the earlier days of July, compared with other areas in Kuwait.
Kuwait has already shifted to the third stage of the return to normalcy plan, which includes raising the operational percentage in government departments and private sector to 50 per cent and also opening up of hotels, resorts, social care home visits as well as restarting taxi service with only one passenger. Kuwait Airport is also expected to reopen on as scheduled on Aug 1.
