Expats And Kuwaitis Can Sell Their Leaves

Reports in Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources suggest that Kuwaiti citizens as well as expatriates are applying to sell their leave days. In the oil sector, between 13,000 and 14,000 workers benefit from the sale of leave days. Kuwaitis and expatriates who meet the conditions stipulated in Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Board decision No. 22/2022 dated May 30, 2022 qualify.

A newly formulated KPC Board of Directors decision will be required if this decision is amended to deprive expatriates. Due to the council's first decision No. 22/2022, denying expatriates their rights and legal positions may raise legal controversy. As part of the cumulative end-of-service benefits of oil workers, which are included in the leave, the oil sector's budget for leave days is independent. Vacations are sold for a total value of KD 135 million to 140 million. It is ready for disbursement and is waiting for government approval.
