Enjoy Exciting Astronomical Events In November Over Kuwait's Skies
It has been announced by the Space Museum of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center that Kuwait will witness several exciting astronomical events in November.
Khalid Al-Jumai'an, General Supervisor of Museums at the center, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that a notable celestial event will occur during this month when Jupiter will be closest to Earth. Known as a close approach, this event provides an opportunity to observe the details and features of the planet in extraordinary detail.
The "Taurid Meteor Showers" will also grace Kuwait's skies on Sunday, November 12. This event will be best observed after midnight in areas with minimal light pollution, with approximately 5 to 10 meteors visible per hour.
The best time of the month for observing and photographing the Milky Way's rivers, as well as winter constellations and star clusters, will be on November 13. This is an excellent time for stargazing enthusiasts to capture the beauty of the cosmos.
Al-Jumai'an also noted that the periodic return of the "Leonid Meteor Shower" will occur on November 18. This meteor shower repeats every 33 years and is associated with the comet “Tuttle-Tempel.” The last significant outburst of Leonid meteors occurred in 2001, and this year is expected to see 15 meteors per hour during the peak.
On Thursday, November 9, the Moon will align with Venus in the eastern sky, offering a stunning sight as they appear close to each other. The Moon will continue its journey across the sky, aligning with Mars on the evening of November 20, and then with Saturn on the night of November 25.
The Space Museum actively documents and monitors all astronomical phenomena in Kuwait's skies, collaborating with international astronomical authorities and incorporating them into its educational programs. There will be a number of captivating celestial events for astronomy enthusiasts to enjoy this year.
