Education To Do Away With Qualification Condition For ‘cleaners’
The Ministry of Education in the face of a problem to hire cleaners, requiring applicants should to hold an intermediate certificate or less, the newspaper learned from its sources that the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Al-Yaqoub has issued instructions to do away with the qualification requirement.
Al-Jarida has learned this will contribute to solving the problem of the employment of cleaners and will open the door to receive more applications and also solve the problem of sanitation workers in schools, which most government schools currently suffer from.
The sources explained the Civil Service Commission has agreed to complete the procedures of 323 male and female cleaners to work in the ministry according to the fixed-salary contract system, and explained the salaries of cleaners who will be appointed is 190 dinars each.
The sources stated that it is expected that the 323 workers, whose appointment has been approved by the Civil Service Commission, will begin work within two to three weeks from now, pointing out that the ministry is racing against time to fill the shortage of cleaners in schools, especially with health requirements imposed by the “Corona” pandemic.
In a related context, Al-Jarida has learned from its sources that the regulatory authorities have refused to complete one of the cleaning contract tenders and requested that it be re-floated, while another cleaning tender was referred to the Ministry of Education for re-pricing, while only one tender has been approved, pointing out that the Ministry is in the process of completing the procedures for signing the contract with the company that won the contract.
