Education Ministry To Form Investigation Over Student Death
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hamed Al-Azmi announced on Tuesday formation of an investigative committee consisting of three bodies from outside the Ministry of Education to probe the death of student Issa Al-Bloushi who was beaten by an expatriate teacher on the deceased chest.
The Minister was commenting on MPs’ intervention during the ordinary session of the National Assembly today regarding the incident of an expatriate teacher beating deceased Al-Bloushi in Amr Ibn Al-Aas School in Al-Rawda area.
;“The investigation committee formed today consists of representatives from the Ministry of Health, Fatwa Legislation Department, as well as another body” the minister said.
The Ministry will take all the needed legal measures regarding this incident, and the person causing the death of the late student will be punished by the rule of law, he added.
The safety of students comes at the top of the Ministry’s priorities, he affirmed. The Minister offered his deepest condolences to the deceased’s family, adding that legal measures will be taken to prevent the teacher from departing the country.
