Education Ministry Quizzed On Expat Teachers

03 December 2023 Education

MP Osama Al-Shaheen proposed requiring schools supervised by the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs (PADA) to adopt the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) system. As part of his proposal, he requested that the Ministry of Education refrain from reducing summer vacation pay for teachers accompanying a family member or relative undergoing overseas treatment.

Meanwhile, Al-Shaheen asked Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Family, Women and Children Affairs Sheikh Feras Al-Sabah why public hospitals do not cater to individuals with intellectual disabilities, especially the elderly, who are forced to use private hospitals for services. In addition, he asked whether PADA is following up on curriculums for students with autism and why the (ABA) system has not been adopted in schools supervised by it.
