E-system Will End Long Queues At Hawally And Farwaniya Traffic Departments
The Hawally and Farwaniya traffic departments are scenes of very long queues of expatriates who have expressed their dissatisfaction and resentment because they have to wait for long hours to complete their transactions every day which also puts a great burden on the Ministry of Interior, while some wonder when will the ministry embark on the e-management instead of just issuing statements.
The long queues are not related to physical deficiencies of the state or security leaders who manage those sites, but the main reason is the lack of coordination between the state institutions.
The Ministry of Interior had decided a few years ago to link the validity of the expatriate driver’s license with the duration of the residence permit although it was not prepared for this decision which has to a great extend put a burden on traffic departments and the senior ministry officials were forced to work two shifts.
A security source told the daily, another real problem is the lack of sufficient driving licenses and driving learning forms in the traffic departments because the contracting company did not provide the ministry with the required quantities.
The source pointed out that the traffic department officials determine a certain number of incoming visitors, which caused such long queues.
