The Ministry of Interior has announced a significant drug seizure conducted by the Criminal Security Sector, spearheaded by the General Administration for Drug Control (Local Control Department). The operation culminated in the apprehension of an individual caught in possession of a substantial quantity of illicit substances. The seized items include 96 kilograms of hashish, 2 kilograms of chemical substances, 1 kilogram of Captagon powder, and 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Additionally, authorities confiscated over a million Captagon tablets, a device utilized for the manufacturing of such tablets, and three firearms with ammunition.
Following interrogation, the suspect admitted to possessing the confiscated items for the purposes of drug trafficking and abuse. Consequently, both the individual and the seized contraband were transferred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.
The General Department of Security Relations and Media reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Criminal Security personnel and all ministry sectors to combat drug trafficking and eradicate its promoters. The Ministry urges the public to collaborate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activities by utilizing the emergency hotline (112) or the General Administration for Drug Control hotline (1884141).
