Deportation Of More Than 700 Illegals And Criminals
In October, 711 violators of residence and labor laws were arrested by a committee comprised of members from Public Authority for Manpower, the Ministries of Interior and Commerce, and the Kuwait Municipality, according to Al-Qabas daily. The head of the inspection team from PAM, Muhammad Al-Dhafiri, told the daily that the latest campaign, which was organized by PAM authority in cooperation with the Interior Ministry resulted in the arrest of 32 violators in and around popular markets in Farwaniya and Dajeej last Saturday.
Al-Dhafiri added most of the workers who were arrested were Article 18 but they were caught working for others rather than their sponsors in addition to 3 domestic workers, and two on family visa. The sources pointed 12 warnings were also issued to commercial establishments in accordance with Article 10 of the Labor Law. The source stated that the authority carries out daily campaigns on violating facilities and commercial complexes, under the direct supervision of Acting Director-general, Dr. Mubarak Al-Azmi, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Residence Investigations.
In this context, the statistics revealed during October 450 violators were arrested, caught working in fictitious domestic workers hiring offices, in addition to another group that sold unlicensed medicines or practiced medicine. According to the sources, the inspection campaigns also target workers who violate public morals and labor regulations in massage parlors, where 25 residents of Asian nationalities were arrested and sent to deportation centers.
