Deportation Of 10 Egyptians Accused Of Assaulting Moci Inspectors
The Ministry of Commerce and Industries conducted an inspection campaign in the Dajeej area of the Farwaniya governorate during which Egyptian expats and MOCI staff quarreled. The incident began during an inspection in the Dajeej area. As the law prohibits smoking in closed areas, an expat was asked not to smoke in one of the shops by an MOCI inspector, which angered the expat, who insulted and assaulted the inspector and summoned 10 Egyptian expats to kick and beat the inspectors.
When registering a case against expats, the Inspectors provided the medical report. Having obstructed the work of inspectors, not complying with country laws, assaulting and disrespecting government employees, they were arrested and referred to a deportation center.
MOCI inspectors were attacked at Al Dajeej Area in Farwaniya governorate by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of State for Communications and Information Technology Mazen Al Nahedh. In a statement to KUNA, Al Nahedh stated that he would not tolerate insults to ministry employees and would provide them with the necessary support and protection. In addition, he stated that the ministry would take legal action against those who tried to deceive consumers.Â
