Defence Worker In Weapons Business
Plainclothes police from the Weapons Inspection Department, in two separate incidents have arrested two people — an employee of the Ministry of Defence for trading in unlicensed weapons and an unemployed person for hiding five guns and a quantity of ammunition on his farm in Wafra, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a security source, the arrests came after the Director- General of the General Administration for Weapons Investigation, Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al-Suhail and his assistant Colonel Walid Shehab, received news about the involvement of the citizen in the sale of illegal weapons.
In the first incident police set a trap for the man and caught him red-handed while selling weapons to a police agent for KD 650 in a suburb of Al-Qurain. In the second incident the security authorities raided the farm in Wafra and seized the weapons and ammunition from the man. Both men have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor.
