Customs Officers Seized Cigarettes And Subsidized Items

A large quantity of cigarettes which was being smuggled to Saudi Arabia from Kuwait was confiscated at Salmi border checkpoint. According to sources, Salmi customs officers were on alert based on instructions from Salmi Customs Supervisor Mater Al-Saeedi and were inspecting everyone who passed through the border checkpoint. In the course of their duty, they came across 304 dozen cartons of cigarettes that were being transported to Saudi Arabia from Kuwait without obtaining export clearance. Salmi customs officers took necessary action.
