Court Of Cassation Dismissed Bail Application For Stormers

In the latest development concerning the storming of the National Assembly premises case, and a day after Consultant Ahmad Al-Ajeel withdrew from hearing of the case due to legal constraint, the Court of Cassation Monday dismissed bail application of the accused persons during a session at the consultation room chaired by Consultant Saleh Al-Muraished, and fixed Feb 18 to hear the appeal.

The panel of judges at the Court of Cassation held a consultative meeting inside the chamber to review the appeal with officials of the Public Prosecution Department and Supreme Prosecution, and they agreed to look into the case objectively.

The Supreme Prosecution presented a two-page supplementary memo containing request for amending its requests against petition of the Public Prosecution Department for stricter penalties. Defense team of the suspects were also present to solicit bail for their clients with whatever guarantees the court may deem appropriate, and sought permission to copy opinion of the Supreme Prosecution.
