Court Acquitted 2 Expat Blacksmiths Who Were Accused Of Causing Fire On Govts Project
The Misdemeanor Court acquitted two expatriate blacksmiths who were accused of unintentionally causing a fire incident at the project site of a state institution.
The Public Prosecution had charged the two blacksmiths with causing a fire incident at the site of a state institution in Mirqab area in Kuwait City when sparks flew while they were cutting iron, and reached some nearby wood.
The fire had resulted in some material damages not only at the project site, but also in some nearby buildings, as the fire had spread there. During the court session, Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al- Qattan, who was the defense counsel of one of the blacksmiths, stressed that his client had denied all accusations, insisting that his work was limited to cutting the iron using the electrical tool.
He said his client was working at the site of the incident from 5am to 10am, adding that the investigations did not include those who witnessed the incident
