Country Indicators Still Reassuring
To keep pace with the next stage, the Ministry of Health has begun reviewing all decisions related to the infections with the Covid-19 pandemic to acquire harmonization and balancing between the health of individuals on the one hand and the social and economic conditions on the other hand, reports Al-Rai daily. The health sources confirmed the “indicators in the country are still reassuring, despite the high infection rates thanks to the country’s high vaccination rates (about 82 percent have received two doses and 18 percent the booster dose), which was largely responsible to limit the hospitalizations, particularly admission to the ICUs.”
More and more citizens and expatriates are turning up for their booster shots after the vicious return of corona pandemic as number of victims keeps on climbing
Meanwhile, the health sources said “the technical committees in the ministry are working to review and develop decisions to confront the pandemic which is expected to reach its peak soon especially the current wave of omicron mutant before the infections begin the downward trend in about 3 to 4 weeks.”
Meanwhile, the head of the Supreme Committee to confront Corona, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah, indicated the continuation of the sharp increase in infections with the mutant ‘Omicron’ saying the infections will reach its peak soon. He pointed to a relative increase in infections, especially among those who did not receive the vaccination, and said that achieving high rates of vaccination in Kuwait ensured economic, educational and societal openness in light of an ongoing pandemic.
Kuwait on Sunday said 4,503 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s caseload to 465,331, health ministry data showed. Some 2,243 more people recovered from the virus to up the number of those to have overcome the disease to 421,442. according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, adding that the recovery to positive case ratio stands at 90.6 percent. One fatality linked to the virus upped the country’s death toll from the pandemic to 2,476, while 277 people are hospitalized with the virus, 26 of whom need intensive care, he told KUNA. Some 31,133 swab tests were conducted over the last day, out of a total of 6,445,278 so far, added the spokesman.
