Council Of Ministers: Flexible Working Hours Are Not Mandatory

09 September 2023 Kuwait

According to the Council of Ministers, the flexible working hours are optional for government employees, since many government establishments have rejected his idea.

According to the source, the Council of Ministers has instructed the ministers to inform senior officials in their department of the best time to work according to flexible working hours, or reject the offer, as long as they justify why they are not following flexible working hours, reports Al-Qabas daily.

There will be a 30-minute flexible "delay" in fingerprinting time, which will be compensated before leaving, according to the source. Most government institutions will adopt a circular for flexible working hours.

In accordance with the source, some government agencies, such as the Public Authority for Civil Information and hospitals, refused to implement flexible working hours because of the nature of their work. Flexible working hours are not compulsory for employees, but rather their choice, and they may refuse to accept them.
