Coast Guard Shoots Iraqi Fisherman In Exchange Of Fire

After being shot by a Coast Guard patrol, an Iraqi fisherman has been taken to the hospital under security guards.

Kuwaiti security personnel caught the man inside Kuwait's territorial waters after he refused to obey their orders, Al-Rai reported.

It happened while the Coast Guard men were on duty at Bubiyan Island and spotted an Iraqi cruiser entering territorial waters. When the captain of the Coast Guard ordered the intruder to stop, he refused and attempted to fire at the Coast Guard, which led the Coast Guard to fire warning shots in accordance with the procedures in place.

According to a security source, a fisherman was injured during the exchange of fire, and a helicopter was requested to transport him to a hospital for treatment.
