16 February 2017 Crime News

Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested a threeman gang — two Kuwaitis and a Syrian — for stealing 19 cars, mostly left in operation condition, reports Al-Shahed daily. The arrest came after police received information that one of the Kuwaitis, believed to be 26 years old, is the prime suspect and it is he who steals the cars when someone leaves them in operation and goes about doing his business.

The daily added, police then raided the home of the prime suspect in Hawalli after getting a warrant from the Public Prosecution and seized from him cell phone which he had apparently stolen from the cars and some drugs. During interrogation the suspect admitted to the charge and gave police names of his two accomplices. They were picked up from Sa’ad Al-Abdullah. They told police they set fire to the cars after removing the parts. They also said they used the cars to commit thefts. They have been referred to the concerned authorities
